Mensa calendar.

I was given a Mensa page-a-day calendar for Christmas. Today's “puzzle” was along these lines: find a nine-letter word for person seeking elected office that can be divided into a six-letter word for honest and a three-letter word for consumed.

I had it before I had torn off the previous page, without even really thinking. Is this puzzle Mensa-worthy? I thought Mensa was for extremely smart people. Which leaves me with three possible conclusions:
  1. Mensans are not as smart as they think they are.
  2. Mensans are trying to lull us into a false feeling of intellectual adequacy… and then they strike.
  3. Mensans don't write their own calendars.
What do you think?

(Also: Candidate = candid + ate? THEY HAVE THE SAME ROOT! Interrobang.)

Well dammit, William, my first thought was definitely, "Shoot, that only took me about 20 seconds to solve; I must be exceptionally bright."

Thanks for crushing my dream, man!
